How To Install Gear Manager and connect to Non-Samsung Devices (successfully :)

First of all i want to thanks to all the fellows from XDA forum and especially to @kingakuma , @Akram and @Brendo users , you have my respect for making this possible , we really appreciate your effort and help !!!

Just one probably mandatory and most important detail: Please install it if possible naked OS or at least with minimum installed apps , i have disabled even Google services except Play and Google+ which can't go off easily , all the rest were disabled , no additional apps were installed , no other devices were ever connected before DELETE all previous connected BT devices nothing should use BT connection neither app or device , it must be bare-bone structure when you check in Services ... then it works as described on all devices i own.

IF YOU SKIP A STEP OR CHANGE THE ORDER IT WONT WORK , PLEASE FOLLOW IT EXACTLY AS DESCRIBED !!!

So back to the topic.
Second of all :P , It's Confirmed , the solution works on all versions from 5.0.1 up to 6.0 , tested models so far HTC One M8 , Motorola RAZR XT910 , LG G3 , LG G Flex 2

ROOT is not required , you can use your Stock OS without SU or Root or anything which can harm or violate your warranty (how cool is that :)

For your convenience and for making your life easier find the proper files attached HERE - the right version is Gear S 2.2.15022599.7z

Extract the files from Gear S 2.2.15022599.7z to your PC/MAC , and transfer all to your SD card, or inside the main storage , just be sure you keep all the folders as it is , and create and paste them in folder like GEARS or any convenient name for you inside your device

Step 1:  Installed Gear 2.2.15022599 (First)
Step 2: Install Everything in Extracted Folder
Step 3: Install Everything in the Downloaded Folder

4th, Open Samsung Gear and Pair your Device
Keep in mind it will reset your Gear S watch back to null , it will wipe out all your data so back up before doing it .

Once the Gear has been reset you will get an Error Host Manager Has forced Close.

Some models wont show error for Host Manager as described on 4th step , the result is just connecting status till forever , there is no need to wait 25min to realize it 30 sec is enough time , then you can close all apps , go to app manager force stop and uninstall the host manager , reinstall as described with the provided one.

Step 5: (not mandatory) Disable Bluetooth (this can stops the force closing if you experience such , if not there is no reason to disable it) , for some models there is no need to disable data , no need to disable Bluetooth or any specific service except the Host one.

Step 6: (Mandatory) Uninstall Host Manager

Step 7: Install Host Manager 2.2.14102499 (Inside the Install After you get Host Manager Force close Folder)

Step 8: (not mandatory) Enable Bluetooth

Step9: Open Samsung Gear (it could ask you to update your watch firmware , you can do it and it will reconnect after that just fine if connected at first)

Now it should pass to the Next Screen for the Privacy Notice and so on, and BANG Voila you are done now you can setup your Device.

Svoice only works with Samsung Devices
Music transfer and image Transfer does not work , but you can easily copy files via USB cable as you did before :)

Confirmed about:
Phone Calls Work, Text Messages Work, Application Notifications Work, Changing Clocks from App works (But you cannot download new from Samsung App market) , Here App Works, Nike + Works, Contacts Work,

Weather Only works and shows on Samsung Devices with Touchwiz (after the little firmware update Weather option will disappear completely from your device anyway)

S Health app from Samsung and available via Play works just fine too. All sensors and stats are syncing just fine.

Side loading your .wgt works just fine as before so no need to worry about resetting your precious collection.

Again many thanks to all XDA developers and guys for the effort and painless solution. We appreciate your work !!!

How to sideload WGT files on your Samsung Gear S device

How to sideload .WGT files on your Gear S watch guide.

1. Step 1 - Enable USB Debugging on Gear S Device:

To be able to sideload .wgt files via data cable on your Gear S watch you have to enable USB debugging first by following the next steps:

– Go to Settings
– Scroll to “Gear info” tab
-- USB Debugging.
– Ignore the warrning message and click OK
- Done

2. Step

- Use the original charging cradle and original USB datacable to connect your Gear S watch via USB on your PC / Mac or whatever OS you have.
- Download the SDB tool and unzip it in easy to access folder on your hard drive (i recommend to be extracted in C:\SDB folder just to make your life easier )

Find the SDB tool HERE

3. Step
– Open command line (cmd on windows) and navigate to the SDB folder (in your case C:\SDB )
– On the console type : sdb devices
After typing the sdb device , your system will try to recognize the device connected via USB

Once connected , now you can side load any .wgt file with simple command line into the same CMD command line window by typing the following command:

type : sdb install xxx.wgt. (were the xxx is the exact name of the file , for your convenience you can rename your WGT file collection with simple words or letters just to make your life easier)

This should install the .wgt file on your connected device.

Disconnect the Gear S from your PC/MAC or whatever :) and have fun.

I know there are hundreds of posts out there , but most of them are not exactly helpful if you are not a owner of Samsung mobile phone and for such reasons i want to make your life easier by sharing the following collection HERE.

There are no AdSense or NonSense rubbish ads on my page , my only idea is to help you and make your life easier than mine :)

Have fun
